Parent Volunteers Make It Possible!
The Ankeny Centennial High School band program offers tremendous experiences for students. In order to provide those experiences for students, we need the help of parent volunteers. From doctors and nurses to bus chaperones, from mechanics to ticket takers, we need you and your talents and skills.
We would love to have you volunteer your time to help us out! We coordinate all of our volunteers through the website VolunteerSpot. Our link is: http://vols.pt/VoyqBP. You can also find some donation items the band could use to help it be successful at our VolunteerSpot page. For those that have already signed up to donate an item (or items)…Thank you! We will have a location in the school band area during band camp week that you or your student can drop off your donation.
The Ankeny School District requires that all volunteers need to fill out and return the District Volunteer Form each school year. They also require a background check form, but this form only needs to be filled out every 5 years. Both of these forms can be found by going to ankenyschools.org, go under “Parents” and then “Handbooks”, or click the following link: Volunteer Handbook
We need these prior to the first football game, Friday, September 5. Please fill these out if you believe you will volunteer at some point during the school-year. There have been parents in the past that wanted to volunteer last minute and were turned away because of lack of paperwork. They can be returned to Mr. Hook, Mr. Hable, or to Connie Richard in the Centennial main office. If you have already filled these out for the 2014-2015 school-year, you do not need to fill them out again.
