On Friday, April 25th, the Ankeny Centennial Concert Bands performed at Southeast Polk High School as part of the Adventureland-Drake University Festival of Bands. As part of this Festival, collegiate judges heard a wide variety of bands giving them divisional ratings (I – Excellent, II – Excellent, etc.). Bands also can elect to compete for the honor of Best of Class.

The Centennial Symphonic Band (10th Grade) received a Division II+ rating and was awarded the Don Don Marcouiller Best of Class Trophy for their performance in the Open Class. The Centennial Wind Symphony (11-12th Grade) received a Division I rating. Other bands performing included Ankeny High School, Southeast Polk High School, Johnston High School, West Des Moines Valley High School, and a few 1A, 2A, and 3A schools.
