On Saturday, October 18, 2014, the Ankeny Centennial Marching Band performed at the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Marching Band Festival at Waukee High School and the Mid-Iowa Band Championships in Ankeny. At IHSMA, the Centennial Marching Band received their 2nd consecutive Division I rating in school history!

Both Ankeny and Centennial High School then hosted the 27th annual Mid-Iowa Band Championships. To open up the contest, over 1,000 Ankeny band students in grades 6-12 performed the Star Spangled Banner on the field under the direction of Jennifer Williams. The Centennial Band went on to perform in exhibition in front of a sell-out crowd to close the contest.
