Ensemble Project and Upcoming Dates

Next week, students will be performing their ensemble projects for each other during 1st Period on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Below is a schedule of performances. Students should let Mr. Hable or Mr. Hook know ASAP if there is a problem with their performance. We tried our best to avoid AP exams when building the schedule. Ensembles that have not turned in their scores yet are marked below:

Awards Concert – Monday, May 11, 7:30pm @ ACHS
Students are called at 7:00pm

Commencement Rehearsal – Tuesday, May 19, 7:30am @ ACHS
All 10-12th Grade Band and Choir students need to rehearse together prior to Commencement.

Drum Major Auditions – Thursday, May 21, 7:15am @ NV Music Area
All 9-11th Grade Band students will meet at NV to audition drum majors for next year.

Commencement – Monday, May 25, 9:30am @ Knapp Center
All 10-12th Grade Band and Choir students perform as part of the Commencement ceremonies. We are unable to provide transportation to and from the Knapp Center. Students are expected to find their own transportation for this event. Plan for a 30 minute drive from Ankeny. We encourage you to car pool, if possible. Students are to wear dress clothes to the ceremony. We will be playing the Processional, Recessional, and America the Beautiful. Students are responsible for bringing their instrument. Seniors can turn in school-owned instruments at the ceremony. The directors will bring the music, percussion equipment, and large instruments. The ceremony should be done by 11:30am.
